bed & breakfast Château du Grand Jardin
Château du Grand Jardin
For a truly enchanting week-end break or holiday indulge yourself with a stay in this romantic chateau extented during the 19th century onto an existing 17th manor house.Lovingly restored by the owners, a warm welcome awaits you.
Enjoy the atmosphere of days gone by in this delighful chateau situated on the edge of a tipically 'provençal' village, steeped in history and famous for it's rolling fields of lavender in the heart of this Jean Giono region, not far from Manosque, Moustiers St Marie and the Verdon Gorges and lakes, one of the most dramatic and grandiose landscapes in Europe.
Relax in the serene and cheerful atmosphere of this elegant home which, after more than two centuries, is still imbued with the spirit of the admiral de Villeneuve, a hero devastated by the tragedy of Trafalgar and the rages of Napoleon.
Jeanne Bonaparte, Napoleon's niece, is also one of the characters which were frequent stays there.
Two impressive suites and three charming rooms of individual character are available with secure parking in the courtyard of the chateau. Savour the dishes of our 'table d'hotes' ‘candle-lights dinner’. Traditional french cooking carefully prepared with fresh local produces. Where appropriate, we can recommend some good restaurants in the vicinity (see page “Tours & links " on our website).
