Set in its own peaceful, rural grounds, our house, dating from 1931, is built into the rocky hillside. It is an ancient Celtic site which stands above the Dore Valley. To the east, south and west, there are magnificent views of the Livradois Forez, the rolling countryside, the Col du Béal and the summit of Saint-Pierre-sur-Haute (1634 metres). From the garden you can look down on the red roofs of medieval Olliergues. The present chateau (14th century), set on a pinnacle rock in the centre of the village, houses a very interesting museum showing the past crafts and activities of the area. From the ancient bridge, dating back to Roman times, one has a beautiful river view of the village.We have four double rooms and another double room but the bathroom is on another floor. An extra bed is possible in each room.
