Near Amboise and not far from Tours, the manor of "Guépière" receives you in its b&b rooms, south exposed, dug in the rock with independent entry. They were entirely restored and combine the charm of an atypical dwelling and all modern comfort (WIFI, TV, walk-in shower, separate WC , double hand-wash basin, individual garden furniture).

A little history: the Manor of "Guépière" of the 16th century supervised a ford on the river (gué in french) and the lord of the places was called Pierre from where the name of Ford of Pierre which later became “Guépière”.


The manor still has Renaissance elements (frontage and pinion). It was the property of the father of Paul Scarron, a famous comic poet who was the first husband of Mrs. de Maintenon, favorite and then wife of Louis XIV. Scarron and his wife remained at the Manor when they travelled in Touraine.
